Organization Membership & Data-Access Terms

1. Scope and Applicability

These Organization Membership and Data-Access Terms ("Organization Terms") govern your use of the WanderSafe platform when you join, accept an invitation from, or have an account provisioned by an organization (such as an employer, university, educational institution, NGO, or enterprise entity, collectively referred to as your "Sponsoring Organization").

These Organization Terms supplement the general WanderSafe Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the event of any specific conflict between these Organization Terms and the general Terms of Service regarding organizational data access, these Organization Terms shall govern.

2. Sponsoring Organization Visibility and Data Access

When you join a Sponsoring Organization on WanderSafe, designated safety administrators within that organization are granted access to specific safety telemetry and status indicators strictly to fulfill duty-of-care, campus security, or lone-worker protection obligations:

2.1 What Sponsoring Organizations Can See:

• Emergency SOS & Strobe Activations: Precise real-time GPS coordinates, timestamp, and battery/device status transmitted when you trigger an emergency SOS alert via the JENI mobile app or paired WanderSafe Beacon.
• Safety Check-Ins: Timestamps and confirmed safety status when you voluntarily complete a designated safety check-in prompt or schedule a timed trip check-in.
• Assigned Hardware Telemetry: Device pairing status, battery level, firmware version, and operational health of any organization-provisioned WanderSafe Beacon.
• Aggregated Risk & Incident Analytics: Anonymized, aggregated reporting on campus or workplace safety trends (e.g., total safe routes calculated, safety zone validations).

3. Duty of Care and Enterprise Safety Console

Sponsoring Organizations utilize WanderSafe Enterprise and Campus Safety Consoles to monitor aggregate threat feeds, coordinate incident dispatch with on-campus police or private security, and verify the wellbeing of lone workers, traveling executives, or enrolled students during localized emergencies, severe weather events, or geopolitical crises.

Organizations warrant that all administrators granted console access have received formal training in privacy safeguards, data minimization, and incident response protocols.

4. Student Privacy and Higher Education (FERPA)

For university and college deployments, WanderSafe operates in full compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (34 CFR Part 99):

• School Official Status: WanderSafe acts as a "School Official" with legitimate educational and safety interests under FERPA, operating under the direct control and governance of the educational institution regarding the maintenance of student records.
• No Commercial Exploitation: Student data is strictly isolated and never sold, monetized, or utilized for behavioral advertising or third-party marketing.
• Voluntary Opt-In Features: Features such as parent notification circles and off-campus safe routing remain strictly under the individual student's control.

5. Data Retention, Revocation, and Leaving an Organization

You maintain full sovereignty over your organization membership:

• Revoking Organization Access: You may leave an organization at any time via Account Settings > Organization in the JENI app. Upon departure, your Sponsoring Organization immediately loses all visibility into your real-time alerts, check-ins, and device status.
• Historical Incident Logs: Incident records generated during active emergency SOS events may be retained in the organization's duty-of-care audit log as required by applicable occupational safety laws (OSHA) or Clery Act campus security reporting mandates.
• Account Conversion: Departing an organization transitions your account to a standard individual personal account without loss of personal contacts or Hero Points.

6. Multi-Jurisdictional Compliance

WanderSafe enforces global privacy standards across organizational workspaces:

• European Economic Area & UK (GDPR): Organization processing is grounded in Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests in ensuring workforce and student safety) and Article 9(2)(c) (vital interests in emergency medical and SOS response).
• Australia (Privacy Act 1988 & APPs): Collection of location telemetry is restricted to explicit consent and emergency exception frameworks.
• United States: Compliance with state workplace monitoring disclosure laws and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).
